A particular place, season and set of acts
Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam. It asks both wealth and body. For those in whom the conditions are met it is obligatory once in a lifetime. If means exist but health does not, sending a deputy may be discussed; that is a separate question, not settled in haste on the telephone.
In the technical sense Hajj is to visit the Kaaba and the sacred places around it, in the Hajj months, observing the rites. Those months are Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa’dah and the first ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. The heart of the pillars is the standing at Arafat. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have said that Hajj is Arafat.
This page does not replace a classical handbook. The order of obligatory, required and sunnah acts is taught by the group teacher. Our aim is to show the large map before you travel, without turning fear into speculation.
Conditions, in brief
Islam, majority, sound mind, freedom, the means for provision and transport, the arrival of the season, and leaving provision for those one must support — these headings appear in the classical texts. There is no single nisab figure as in zakat. “Has it become obligatory for me this year?” is not a question a blog can close. You describe your situation to a teacher and to us together.
A righteous Hajj is performed with generosity, a guarded tongue and without mixing in sin. Its sign is to return in a better state. We do not sell this as a package feature. Organisation removes obstacles; it does not promise acceptance.
Ifrad, tamattu’ and qiran
Hajj is named by three intentions.
- Ifrad: Hajj without Umrah. Ihram is for Hajj alone.
- Tamattu’: Performing Umrah and Hajj in the same Hajj months, with separate ihrams. Most groups from Turkey take this path: Umrah first, leaving ihram, then ihram for Hajj.
- Qiran: Umrah and Hajj in a single ihram.
Which suits you depends on health, length of stay and the guide’s plan. In a Surre group the intention is settled in the seminar; we do not leave you undecided at the gate.
Registering for Hajj with Surre
Hajj asks tighter quotas and paperwork than Umrah. Diyanet and Saudi rules change by year. There is no date picker on the site. Quota, rooming and health notes are spoken through at +90 531 929 16 34.
Hajj is arduous. Walking, open air, crowds and broken sleep are expected. Our preparation article separates practical and spiritual headings. If you wish to plan the obligatory journey in trusted hands, call us.
