Hajj days in outline: the skeleton of the rites

From Tarwiyah to Eid, Arafat to Mina. No promise of hours; the order of the obligations and the pace of a Surre group.

Why we print no hours

Hajj days follow the Hijri calendar; the Gregorian dates shift every year. Coach permits, tent areas and Haram arrangements also change. A blog frozen at “09:00 departure for Arafat” would be a false trust. Surre gives that year’s programme to the group by seminar and field announcement.

What remains here is a skeleton. Most groups from Turkey on a tamattu’ intention stay close to this order; ifrad and qiran are distinguished in the teacher’s explanation.

In Makkah before Hajj

Umrah (for tamattu’) is completed on arrival and ihram is left. The days between hold the Haram, rest and short visits. On the day of Tarwiyah (8 Dhu al-Hijjah) ihram for Hajj is entered; the move to Mina follows that year’s logistics.

Arafah and the standing

The 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah is the day of Arafat. Zuhr and Asr are combined (the teacher explains school and practice). The standing lasts until sunset within the bounds of Arafat. Supplication, Qur’an, quiet. Lunch and water are not neglected; a polished livestream is not a condition of the rite.

Muzdalifah, Mina, the jamrat

At night, the standing and rest at Muzdalifah, and gathering pebbles for the stoning. On Eid (the 10th): the greater jamrah, the sacrifice (it may be by proxy), shaving, the tawaf of visiting and sa’y — order and dispensations sit on the teacher’s chart. The 11th and 12th are the stonings in Mina; staying to the 13th is discussed separately.

The tawaf of visiting is among the pillars of Hajj; its hour is chosen with the teacher according to tiredness. The farewell tawaf is planned near departure.

Surre in the field

Tent, meals and transfer class vary by package; the order of worship does not. Dispensations for older guests (the standing at Muzdalifah, the hour of stoning) are spoken before the field, not improvised there.
